Personal Background:
Born (1943), raised and went to college in So. California. In 1965 I left for law school and grad school at Harvard and moved to Stony Brook on Long Island in 1973. Three daughters living on the West coast. Karen and I live in a fabulous 1880 house that is a bottomless pit of gratifying work.
My work at Stony Brook has always been interdisciplinary, in part because there is almost no one with my disciplinary background. I've always worked with teams of folk. My focus changed from ethics and jurisprudence to medical education an academic administration in the late 1990's and I find the fields incredibly challenging, the latter, impossible.
