Scholarly Interest:
In her role as medical educator, Dr. Mylona is specialized in curriculum development. She has been working with teams of faculty to design and conduct major curriculum reform activities. She is the founder of an institutional faculty development fellowship program at Stony Brook School of Medicine that aims to enhance faculty’s skills and knowledge in the areas of teaching, evaluation, and leadership.
Dr. Mylona is a nationally recognized lecturer, consultant and educator. She has served national organizations and medical schools nationally and internationally and has led major curriculum revision projects. She has conducted faculty development workshops for health professions faculty on a variety of topics in medical education and leadership. Dr. Mylona has served as a co-investigator on federally funded research projects related to curriculum design, program evaluation and faculty development. Her major areas of research interest include curriculum development and evaluation, instructional design, professional and organizational development.
