Education and Professional Experience:
Colorectal surgeon always involved as a clinical teacher since 1981; ABS certified (1981) recertified (1991, 2001); member of the FACRCS; founding member of Colorectal Surgeons of Canada.Associate dean of professor affairs and responsible for fauculty development since 2004
Mentor of the year 2006 RCSC.

 

Scholarly Interest:
One year of pedagogical formation at Université de Montréal (1991); diploma in Healthcare management from McGill University (1992-1995); complete training as physician manager program of the CMA (PY 1 to 5) (1995-2001); Masters in clinical epidemiology and evaluation from Université de Montréal (1990-1992).
Ethical code for faculty, Valorisation of faculty through respect of the cycle of life.
Interested by the challenge of four different generations working together and trying to share common values.
Supervise two masters degrees students in simulation teaching and on line pbl sessions.

 

Personal Background:
Create a course for Doctoring (first two clinical years early contact with patients and monitor); course described in Academic Medicine (1992-2000);
Responsible for the evaluation, training of monitors for 8 years of this course;
Clerkships director for 4 years (1996-2000);
Member steering committee for the AAMC accreditation in 1999 (we obtained a full 6 years).creation of a leaderships workshop for practising directors of departments
married to a colorectal surgeon and we try to manage three teenagers: 2 daugthers and a son ( 17,15,14) I must admit it is sometimes more difficult than solving academic problems
